Your match, live on the lock screen
Kick-off arrives, and your team’s match appears on the lock screen by itself. No app to open, no refreshing: the score, the clock and the big moments update on their own.
Starts at kick-off, ends at full time
Follow a club in Ninety and allow notifications. When that club kicks off, a Live Activity starts on your iPhone lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. It updates through the match and disappears a little while after full time. You do not have to remember to start it, and you can start one for any other match from its page with Follow on lock screen.
Choose how much it shows
Some people want a quiet number in the corner of their eye. Others want the whole story. Pick one of three levels in Settings:
- Just the score: the score and the match clock.
- Goals and red cards: adds the scorers and the latest big moment.
- Every moment: every goal, card and substitution as it happens, plus shots, possession and corners.
On Android, Ninety sends kick-off alerts and can keep a live match in the status bar where your phone supports it.
It respects your spoiler setting
If the match is one you are hiding, the lock screen shows that the game is on and how far it has gone, not the score. Reveal the match in the app and the lock screen catches up immediately. You can watch the replay at night without your phone telling you the result at lunchtime.
Built to stay fresh without draining your battery
Updates are pushed from Ninety’s server, which checks the live feed several times a minute and only sends a push when something on your screen would change. Your phone does not have to keep the app running in the background, so a full match costs very little battery.
Want to see it before a real game? Settings has a Show a preview button that starts a sample Live Activity right away.
Questions
Which iPhones support Live Activities?
Any iPhone on iOS 16.1 or later shows Live Activities on the lock screen. iPhone 14 Pro and newer also show them in the Dynamic Island.
Why did my lock screen score not appear?
Check that notifications and Live Activities are allowed for Ninety in iPhone Settings, and that you follow one of the two clubs. You can also start it from the match page.
Does it work for every league?
Yes, for any match Ninety covers: the top European leagues, UEFA competitions, MLS, Liga MX, the big South American leagues and international football.
